Rehoboth Non-Profit Organizations

According to public records, there are sixty-three non-profit or tax-exempt organizations in Rehoboth involved in various activities. Although each has tax-exempt status and is involving in fund-raising activities, not all fall into the “your contributions are deductible” category.  Before you claim donations on your own taxes, make sure you can do so legally by checking the status of your favorite organization.

Fans of Beckwith Teams

If you’re a supporter of Beckwith Middle School students and their sports and academic teams (math, science), you know participation in those activities involves funding.  A group of parents formed a fund-raising committee in September 2009 and have hosted a variety of events to raise the money required to send Beckwith students to competitions, both sports and academic.  cheryl.colon@cpwoodcrafters.com.

Workshops on How-To-Apply for a Grant

The Rehoboth Cultural Council will be conducting two how-to-write-a-grant workshops in September in advance of the council’s 2012 grant cycle.

Holding the workshops will provide those interested in submitting a grant the chance to learn more about the process and ask questions of council members.

The Rehoboth affiliate of the Massachusetts Cultural Council receives an allotment of funds to distribute to applicants, either groups or individuals who wish to pursue projects related to the Arts, Humanities and Interpretive Sciences. Projects should benefit the residents of Rehoboth directly, like cultural events or school field trips.

Each year, the RCC receives dozens of grant applications and the workshops are designed to help applicants in that process.  Projects awarded grants are chosen by committee based on state guidelines, including correctly submitting a grant application.

The grant writing workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 6 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m at the Blanding Library.  No registration is required.
